About Me

I’m Here to Help.
I’ve been a psychologist for more than 20 years now and would like to use my expertise as a behaviour change specialist to help you with life’s challenges.
My Background
I trained as a Counselling Psychologist at the University of Johannesburg in 2001. Since then, I’ve had the privilege to manage a practice, teach psychology at graduate level, conduct research on a variety of topics, and work within the applied and organisational psychology fields. I’ve also been an active member of the Association for Psychological Science since 2000.
A persistent theme of my work within the discipline of psychology has been behaviour change and the science behind it.
I’ve had wide experience of the corporate world as well, having held the titles of Chief Operating Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, and my personal favorite as a unapologetic Star Trek nerd, Chief Science Officer (pretty nifty, that one).
My Therapeutic Approach
I primarily use a variant of cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT) known as Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT).
It sounds complicated, but is actually very simple.
REBT is just a practical, highly effective method to help people get closer to their goals without unnecessary and painful levels of emotional distress.
This approach has been shown to be especially effective at helping people who suffer from depression, anxiety, phobias, relationship challenges, and issues related to anger, conflict, frustration and loneliness.
If you decide to start therapy with me, you can expect it to be:
- Highly practical
- Action-orientated
- Focused on getting better rather than just feeling better
If you’d like to know more about REBT, visit this link and see what it’s all about!

Other Interests & Activities
Apart from my therapeutic work, I’m also an executive coach, write professionally (and help folks improve their writing), and am a master facilitator and trainer.
I love movies, read a lot of fiction and history, and am rubbish (but enthusiastic) at playing the guitar!
You can catch up with my other work on LinkedIn.
