You fill in a form on the rationaltherapy.co.za website (also from here on called “the site”). This may be because you want to subscribe to new blog posts (a feature that notifies you, via email, that new blog posts are published on the site), subscribe to a newsletter, leave a comment on a post or page on the site.

You fill in a contact form on the site. The contact form requires you to enter your name and email address in order to send us a message. Your email address is required to enable us to reply to your message.

Site usage data is also collected via the use of cookies (more about these below). This information is processed by Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors to the site use our services and read our content in order for us to provide better content and services.

Types of information that are collected and processed

The personal information we collect about you on our site may include your name, surname, email address, and telephone number. If you fill in an intake form as a prospective patient, we will collect information about your medical insurance plan, membership number, date of birth, and identity number where applicable. If you contact us, we will also record that correspondence. We will never ask for, collect, or process special category personal data related to ethnicity, race, or sexual orientation.

When you use our site, we also automatically collect information through the use of cookies and similar technologies as explained in our Cookie Policy.

In the case of prospective patients who fill in an intake form, we will collect the neccessary information required to conduct our legitimate business and ensure that the prospective patient is able to complete their booking process.

How your personal information may be transferred internationally

Due to the international nature of internet-based services, we may from time to time appoint third parties as data processors to process data containing information about you on our behalf, or store such information in, or transfer it to persons located in, countries outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA“) and/or South Africa and in the United States of America.
